Close to buying this P, worth it?

I found a 2006 Am Stand P, its got the S-1 switch (that I dont plan to use), very good condition, plays sounds great.. seller wants $850. Also, I'm new to to pbasses, the strings are through-body, but it looks like the bridge has the standard string mounts on bridge as well?

That's about the going rate, but you do the see them in the $700 range occasionally. Is this a store or an individual? You already know it plays and sounds great so that's worth a bit vs buying something sight unseen.

Hey Wilder, it's an individual who owns a boutique music studio, the bass has been played. Also do you know about the bridge, he had the strings going through body, but it looked like they can be string on the bridge too?
Is that standard on p's of that year? thanks

That's normal as I recall. You can string the American Standard bridge through the body or through the bridge.

750-900 is standard used market prices for those depending on condition, color, and upgrades. The bridge allows for both methods of stringing. Great simple workhorse basses that just get the job done.
