How can one tell if it is a one piece
neck? Apart from knowing the newer LM5
are equipped witha one piece neck.

If it has the stripe, then it is 'one piece'. The term 'one piece' means that there is no fretboard, so the truss rod is routed in from the back of the neck, and then the route is plugged with that 'skunk stripe'.

I don't believe there is much issue between the two construction methods regarding tone, it is just more 'period correct' I guess if you are trying to vibe an older J or P bass.

It says made for George Taylor by Jimmy Coppolo....and in 4 different places on the heel and neck pocket it says something about the special dalbergia negra rosewood....it also says 3T burst in the neck pocket, and vintage dark tint on the heel....pretty cool! Do you know who George Taylor is?

I was going to suggest a mini NY metro AC GTG when I get the bass and include Gill and Mitch. But when you put it that way it just sounds a little to dirty. I thought I raised my LM5 better then that, they grow up so fast
