+1...exactly. Mine will be a hybrid between the 2 versions. Before it went into the build process Jimmy called me and asked if this was okay with me - it should get me my bass a little faster because he already had that body rough cut verses me waiting for him to do another batch of the new bodies.

And as we speak Jimmy is out of Ash... He's been talking to me about taking a trip to the lumberyard (I drive a truck) to get some new stock.

So what was your hopeful delivery date time frame?

Not to speak for Jason, specially since he's getting a body that's ready but we ordered the same week back in October. I expect mine in October for Bass Player Live... But hopefully Jason gets his sooner since I was ok with waiting a little and having it displayed at the show so Jimmy isn't so pressured to build.

+1...I'm hoping for sometime in September, but I don't know for certain. The last time I talked to Jimmy was last month, and at that time the body was done and ready for paint but he was still working on the neck.

I miss this bass..

WOW-- is that thing in the Guiness Book Of World Records?.

Man, also on that beautiful 5 string Lake Placid Blue with blocks just posted--how did that one ever get away ?
STUNNING.

It's hard telling from some of the pics because the color appears differently in some photos but it's actually Ice Blue Metallic. One of my favorite finishes.

And we can blame that one on the horrible thing known as GAS. Followed by the lament that what you really want is a bass that you have already had. Oh the horror...

yeah .. my LG5 custom weird thing will done done around then too.. Had Jimmy take a few chisel chips off the body here and there....tweak tweak,,, looking forward to it..

It's ice blue metallic, and I have the brother bass! I wasn't silly enough to sell mine though.

haha.. oh man... even though i would like to be.. Im not that special..;) (memo to self. you're not that special..):smug:

No he is doing it with a chisel on his lunch breaks.. if he gets a lunch break..
He is up to his eyeballs in orders right now..

Im trying a slight downsize body with deeper cutaways here and there... so that messes with the neck pocket .. PG ect..

He does do custom for sure..

Got my refret back... feels great... and plays like buttah

+100 on the bolded part.

I will be coming to the shop this week so we can route the body of my bass... Then, with his watchful eyes over my shoulder I will be sanding it personally! I still also have to choose a neck, I have my fingerboard set aside but not the neck.

I am still contemplating the extended "Ruben" cutaway but I'm just not sure if I would want that in the long term.

Wow.. we should get a discount.. You helping sanding... me actually cutting my body blank with Jimmy in January.. ahha.... there is a video somewhere

My bass is gonna be light in weight.... Im thinking of going Sonic Blue Nitro now to match the Poudah kbp4 bass. But with Blocks on the FB.. He and i were knocking colors back and forth and i think thats the deal

The body on mine will actually be the older body. My LM5 will be kinda "in between"...the body itself is the older spec (not the wider body design he is currently doing) but the neck is the new design with the one piece neck and skunk stripe. The neck pocket is the new spec as well (I'm not sure what the difference is, but he's changed that spec with the new basses.)

I'm not sure what the weight is on my body (I guess I could call and ask Jimmy) but when I originally ordered my bass I asked him to keep it at or under 10 lbs and he said this wasn't a problem at all.

Jason,

Are you going for the standard neck profile or the thicker one like Jimmy did for me?
