Whoa, it's MY birthday, too!

AND ...this may be fate, but I decided to bop over this way to put the word out that I'm looking for (preferably) a 4 stringed AC jazz. As you all know, they're hard to track down. I wouldn't be completely opposed to a 5er, but if anyone knows of a 4 for sale...anywhere...or if anyone wants to sell theirs, send me a PM please.

Jimmy and I have the same bday? It's meant to be! An AC is in my future. :hyper:

Look at these two newest examples. The walnut 4 string blows my mind. I wish I had both of these basses.
Anyone know how the walnut compares to ash bodies?

Interesting, since to me, the A-C necks feel VERY wide, due to all that extra wood/space outside the B and G strings. Feels quite 'Fodera-ish' to me (i.e., very shallow neck profile from board to back of neck... that very 'flattened C' sort of profile, but VERY wide side to side). MUCH wider side to side than my Nordy and Sadowsky basses.

In that respect how would you compare it to a F bass BN5 neck? I've never had the chance to play an A-C. Thanks,Jim

Hey, sorry to derail this thread, but I've been trying to get an Alleva-Coppolo price list to no success. I've e-mailed Jimmy a few of months ago, and nothing.

Anybody knows how to get ordering info, built times, and all that good stuff?

They do.

I distinctly remember this as well as that super long top horn. The ergos on an F are pretty unique to F.

I had a BN5, that I bought from Jimmy, in fact. In the days of the Booty-Q. It's long gone and I presently have a KBP5, which is a lifetime keeper. The A-C neck is wide and smooth and one piece with a rosewood fingerboard. I remember the BN5 being narrower at the nut and NOT smooth -- it was 3 piece and the middle piece was on a flatter plane than the two outside pieces so there was a weird flat feeling down the middle of the neck.

Incoming! Jimmy just has to do the pick guard (pearloid) and string tree. So psyched. Even the headstock is a thing of beauty.
