What case is that in the second pic?
That's the ProTec Contego. Jimmy's current soft case. It's what mine shipped in as well. Nice case. I like it a lot better than the previous gig bags, and I didn't want to go with a hard case because I never use them.

I use gig bags for gigs and hard shells to store and to move.Thing is I only need 2 gig bags,a single and a double. So I'd rather get cases with my basses.

+1 And, I'm quite unimpressed with the Contega bag anyway. It does offer a bit more protection than the more traditional gig bag that Jimmy was using, but it's not in the same league as many of the other hybrid cases out there IMO.

The Contego is a decent case, but it's nowhere near a Sadowsky Portabag, inCase, iGig, etc. In fact, some folks have had problems with the main zipper. Jimmy's already had to replace a few, but I think he's been told that's been taken care of, so if your AC comes in one, I don't think you need to be concerned. That said, I think Jimmy's keeping an eye on this, and if switching soft cases again makes sense at some point, I'm sure he'll do it. Nobody wants to see an AC go flopping out on the ground. NOBODY. :)

And, on a separate topic, one of our buddies just became part of the family, and has a BEAUTIFUL Nitro LG with Indian RW board on the way:hiding::bassist:
