+1 That's pretty much where I stand, too. Now, if he were to offer a control plate, I'd probably go for a pickguard on most A-C's.

If I could own one of these the pick guard would be the least of my concerns - I would be too busy playing it and pinching myself - haha!

My KPB4 is playing beautifully at the moment. If you have an opportunity to play a KPB4 in a loudish rock band with the tone knob cranked, you'll keep that bass for life.

My new LG will be getting a nice workout this weekend. Gigs all three days Fri-Sun, both dance/classics band and worship. I'm gonna' use both this one and my Sadowsky, and maybe my VF5 as well if I bring a third bass. Mainly tho, I want to directly A/B the LG vs the Sadowsky to really "get" the diffs. It's been a while. They both rule in their own tonal zones, so it should be a great time doing this.

That will be fun. The Sadowsky ash/maple and the LG are worlds apart IMO (not better or worse, but really different!). Both great flavors of wonderful IMO!
Exactly... that's why I really wanted to put things in the context of celebrating the diffs rather than a competition.
That's also exactly what I expect. The Sadowsky is going to be a bit more modern sounding, with some more edge and aggression to it, where as the LG should be warmer and sweeter sounding, but not lacking any ability to maintain a clear identity in the mix.
My Sadowsky is an absolutely standard/basic JJ5 model. No upgrade options on it. Kinda' like my LG. As Jimmy currently has the product line defined, it's pretty much a straight up LG5 Standard model with no extra options.
Both basses, no frills, all business.
mines done! just received the pics tonight... the hipshot was mistakenly put on in the 1st picture ( with AJ's bass behind it i presume), so its fixed in the second pic... i pick it up on friday!! also bought a tort pickguard so i can change the look of the bass easily...
