Different body style description. Can someone draw this up?
1) Played in sitting position.
2) Cradled between legs.
3) Neck rests upon left shoulder (if right handed).
4) Arms chicken spread which keeps forearms, wrists and hands in a more healthful straightened position while holding/playing this bass instrument.

Tossing this out there to the club...

I'm considering having Tom put a different neck on good 'ol #167. I loooooooooooooooooooove the feel of this neck. Easiest bass I've ever played—Ever!

So I wouldn't change the dimensions—just the woods. But I'm curious as to the opinions of wood combo vs another. I know, I know, there is no definitive answer to this, but others thoughts are always good to hear.

So here's the question: would a maple fretboard, maple neck have more bottom end vs my current neck which is ebony fretboard, maple neck with two wenge stringers? Or would the difference be too negligable to warrant the expense...?

The body is Swamp Ash with a Redwood top

From what I've read, people seem to associate maple fingerboards with a more 'mellow' tone. I couldn't comment from experience - the only maple board I had was my first ever bass - an Encore P-Bass copy. That was some 25 years ago, but I do remember it sounded f*%$in awful!

I doubt that it had anything to do with the wood though

What is the purpose of the change Lincoln? Is it just to get more bottom end?

If you love the neck (as I do on #164 in particular) are there other ways to achieve your sonic goals, that isn't as drastic as a new neck?

If you're after bottom end, the Aguilar OBP3 delivers a shed load of it!

(Or get Tom to build you a whole new bass??)
