May I present you to the white limba body back of the Clement Willow Single cut 6 Headless!!
She's gonna feature a white limba body with a macassar ebony (!!) top, the new Willow single cut body shape (this body shape is also available with a double cut, and the double-neck bass is the first Willow built). Maple neck with birdseye maple fingerboard, birdseye maple covered Nordstrand Big Splits, Aguiliar OBP-3 preamp, Roland GK-3B midi unit, and Hipshot headless bridge system. Looking forward to it!!!!
She's #250!!! My first Clement was #69. So many things have happened, so many beautiful basses been built by our bass wizard. I'm humble to yet again be on the build list!!!!
This is a mockup of what she might eventually look like... but I'm sure she'll be even sweeter!!!!

No BBQ ebony. I have used some Mesquite and apple in my smoker though.
Have you used Mesquite or apple in your basses?

The Apple I have is not big enough for anything. I am hoping to use the Mesquite for tops and fingerboards it as far as I know is one of the hardest American woods out there+ no environmental concerns
Very true......don't forget Bois d'arc for hardness....but Mesquite is very beautiful!

I have had the Mesquite for a few years now I just want to be sure it is totally dry and stable. I have heard it can be tricky. Never seen Pecan

I know Matt form FBB Bass Works has one or two basses with Pecan. Very nice looking, I would love to hear them.
Wow! I did not realize that Hickory was quite that hard! That's an interesting chart you've found there.
I have a pecan tree in the back yard. the squirrels love it this time of year. Makes a real royal mess. Nut shells, pods, leaves and branches every where.
I have a birdseye maple fingerboard glued on a maple neck blank... I altered the colors and lighting a little to let the figuring of the birdseye show properly.
That's Beautiful! I should be driving over to pick up #248 from Tom at his regular gig at the cabbage patch after work Thursday evening. I'm crossing my fingers for good weather and no major traffic. I guess knocking on wood might be good, given the subject matter at hand.
