You're right there!! Tom,
from what I have seen on your Youtube videos, you do quite well giving your band exactly what is needed in the bass department. One thing I have come to realize, (In my Humble Opinion) is, that outside of that all important role that we all have in contributing to the rhythm, bottom & groove of things, THE MOST important thing is how much you the player enjoy what you're doing. From what I see, it appears Playing bass gives you joy. That's a great thing and much more refreshing than all these TB threads about "Best Bass Player?" "Does wood contribute to tone?" etc.

Uhm, my mistake , sorry for the confusion, I think I put "Youtube" automatically because it was video. I'm speaking of the videos of Tom's band on his Facebook. Sorry for the confusion. Tom sent me a nice Picture of #248's Neck basking in the sun like an Alligator or Water Moccassin. I'm having tech challenges loading the photo (Probably too high quality an image) I'll have to try again later after work. (Surfing the WIFI web at Whole Foods now)

I chose to stick with maple, cause I'm a maple neck type of guy, and I'm really looking forward to my maple/birdseye maple neck combination!!! The white limba and ebony on the body is an intriguing and special combination, too. Really looking forward to hearing it and seeing it!! When it's done, that is.

#248 will be my first bass with a neck made of something other than maple. I'm hoping for this bass to have a distinctly different somewhat warmer character sonically than my maple necked basses (which I love too). MW, your newest Clement looks like it's going to be spectacular. I look forward to the day we can listen to some sound samples on that one.

I think Brooks still wakes up screaming in the night, with visions of double neck basses!!!!!
Sorry guys this is a bit of an inside joke.
I play in a modern country band and no matter how good (great) the bass sounds the bandleader (Brooks) wants to see a '63 Pbass and an amp that say Ampeg! So it's constant irritation to him that I'm blessed enough to get to play many of Tom's basses.
