Well, I got 248 home last night and played it through my Ampeg B-210 (my small practice, low volume jam amp) It sounded amazing. This evening I got home and plugged it into my big rig, which is an Ampeg SVT4 Pro plugged into an Eden D-410 XLT. PHE NOM IN AL Tone and Mwaaah aplenty through both amps. I was surprised that I'm also able to get a classic Geddy Lee esque Ric tone (Think Farewell to Kings, "Cygnus X-1 and the tone on Hemispheres) out of the bass. It sounds way more like that than my 1986 Rickenbacker 4003 does.. go figure! lol I can't say enough about what a great Bass Tom built for me. Also, I went to Sam Ash today amd have found a Kaces KPG 208 cordura case that fits my 5 string 34 inch scale Jon bodied bass perfectly. Anyway, thought I'd update you all. Time to go be social with my wife an some friends.. I'll be secretly pining for my bass :bassist:

Yes, but then you don't have a problem anymore. :smug: And she has a major one with al those basses left.

Oh my, you're right! Never thought about that! :D

Happy Birthday, Tom! Sorry I was a bit late there! Hope the oysters were as great as your basses!

Personally I'm eager to see how my new Willow will turn out :) I have great expectations for this build! I'm hoping it will replace my Yamaha as my main solid body six string, and take care of the back problems at the same time :)

Will keep you updated as I get news from Tom :)

My oh My, that sounds like an insane (in a good way) build!!! So you're going do control all of your eq (except for the capacitor) through your amp and any outboard hardware eh? You madman you! So Tom, looks like you'll have a couple of mortgage & bill payments from this one :D Congrats on the successful spousal negotiations and your new build GBM!

Of course. celebrate through buying #196 Anne fretless (was born with frets) 6 string with EMG45CS pups v/v/t active. Nut is ebony. Gorgeous and plenty of mwah or punch. Will be replaced by above listed new build 7 string. Excellent bass. :hiding: :D :help: :crying:

Attached is a short recording I worked on today with #248. This is my very first fretless bass, also I like to use chords a-lot, this resulted in some sketchy intonation in places, and a little bit of slop. I'm so OCD that if i waited for a perfect recording I'd probably never share anything. The only additional item in my signal chain on the way to my Zoom HD-16 multi-track this is my Tech 21 Sans Amp Bass Driver DI, with the drive turned all the way down to zero. I also did a rudimentary track with my ESP M-2 guitar to flesh things out a bit.
