it is not a stack upon an old surround but one especialy made to fit the original humbucker holes and my own standard fixation, if you look the side picture you'll see it. beside this, they mount with very minor adjustments, no workshop required.

Crude picture, but a pic of Godin BG-IVs one with EMGs and the
other with Fred's Dark Stars with a Noll two band preamp.
These basses are great for the money, very stable, have a
P-bass neck, and I don't worry leaving them in my car. Get
an amazing tone with the Dark Starred bass
Still have my Sadowsky and Alembic Rogue when the situation requires,
but these two cover 90% of my daily (spelled four bands) needs
Fred is a very high quality guy, hope all the best for him, and
glad to see the interest (thanks Mgod) not to mention (the French connection)

Interesting. For some reason I had always assumed that IICORMN was the Starfire, but you are probably right. I don't know when those sessions happened, but that was probably during the time the Starfire was getting the major rebuild.
Hey Nikolas, how are those new pickups? Looking good in that Starfire (it is a starfire, isn't it?)

I seem to remember that Phil wrote in his biography that on the sessions for what among other things would become IICORMN he used the EB3. These sessions go under the name PERRO Sessions (Planet Earth Rock and Roll Orchestra Sessions). unbelievable ! The tone is like Dark star but a bit , bigger, punchier, Growl & tight lows clear highs. I switch from Labellas to TI flats and if you can play with low tension strings it's wonderfull? a lot of sustain and mids ! I can easyly recommand those pickups as Bisonic on steroid sound ! Merci Roger Daguet !
I have one of Roger's new pups on the way. I'm pretty excited, I'm putting it in the neck position of my 62 RI Jazz, I'll post pics of it when it arrives and when I actually get it in my bass.

Very cool Ctmullins, I'd love a DS'd 8-string, it probably sounds just massive. Cool early EB-0 vibe to it, with the body shape and cherry red stain.
Anyways, my Dag-Star arrived last week, I'm just waiting for my darned luthier to respond amount getting it dropped in my jazz. #23, very excited to get it installed. Not sure if this is the first Rdag Bi-sonic this side of the pond or not, but I'll definitely post an update when I get it put in.
Btw, Roger, what is the official name of your pickups? I'd be inclined to maybe name them after another song by someone who used the originals (similar to Dark Star), and since I'm on a huge Allman's kick, my suggestion would be Les Brers (though I know the word isn't actually French). Or Dag-Stars works too.
