So, I have a question for everyone out here in Fbass land. What bass specific strap (or non bass specific strap) are you using to gig with? I have been having a lot of problems with my shoulder and George and I have tried just about everything under the sun. I have no idea why I haven't asked on here before this but we should just mark it down as a brain fart and carry on, lol.

So far its a tie for me between the latest version of the Fbass strap that has the extra bit of padding in it and the M29 Strap from Levy. Both are excellent and are keeping me from experiencing the pinched nerve fun I was having a few months ago.

Does anyone have any suggestions or recommendations?

I haven't tried these myself, but I've thought about it, so I'll pass that on for what it is worth.

Levy's F Bass strap for me but I always wear an orthopedic belt while playing for more than 1 hour in order to ensure a good body position and therefore good arm position and therefore a good hand position and therefore you rev nt tendinitis.

It's also my solution to preserve my back while having long time gig.

Quick question for you guys: Do any of you have experience with the "exposed" pole pieces on their Fbass (AC preferably)...compared to standard wood covered.
George stated that it would slightly add more sparkle... Do any of you have any tracks comparing the two>?

Been playing my new BN6 Brown Burst "No Pore Filler" and am totally blown away by this bass! I owned a BN5 a few years back and really liked it but this BN6 just kills! Love the tone and versatility I get and the bass just plays its self. One of the best playing if not the best 6 string'ers I've played or owned. The NPF finish is really cool in Brown Burst. The grain almost Pops with an Enhanced Grain option would and to feel the grain is sweet too!

Im very happy with this and excited to play her this weekend at church.

Would like to Give a HUGE shout out to Donovan at FretSpot. Just a great guy to work with and a top notch dealer!

I'm thinking about either a AC6 fretless or BNF6 next.

Thought I'd mention too I'm looking for a Fbass Strap if anyone has a line on one. I was able to find a Mint used one a few years ago. I have a NEW Smith strap I could trade for, one of 2 Comfort Straps or a Levis leather strap all in like new condition. Drop me a line if ya got a F strap you want to trade.

Wow! Alex would be a "very cool bassist" in ANY country!

Alex does a much better job than I do at using a light slap technique to bring out the character of that BN6LE replica. Listening to him makes me realize I need to lighten up my slap touch.

Also, when he soloed the bridge pickup, it sounds better than I realized -- I'm going to have to some more experimenting with my bass to get there. I just heard it once (maybe twice) and told myself, "Uh, I won't be using THAT tone!"

Well, as mentioned a few days ago, I've had a 'demo' BN4 since Saturday and still have a couple more days with it.

The useable range of tones is awesome! I'd done some recordings of the BN4, my Fender P, and my Lakland 44-02. While (as mentioned) the BN4 won't do a carbon-copy of the P, it gets darn close. The BN has some nice depth/fullness to the notes. One of my current basses pales in comparison, and listening to the recordings played back through headphones made this obvious.

From a playing standpoint, the weight and balance were great. My fingers took a liking to the neck and fretboard contour almost immediately.

There were some issues with it, but I think they are all manageable. It was in dire need of a setup. Lots of fret buzz and E/A string clack. (yes, my technique probably needs some refinement, as well). Also, I could feel one of the seams of the wood joint along the back of the neck. Nothing some super-fine grit sandpaper couldn't solve. Before I dropped the coin on this, I'd have the dealer make sure these were all resolved.
