What is that black mark on the B-string side of the bass?

What kind of bridge is that? That switch... anyone know more about this bass?

Hi Tom,
that one is my "signature" bass.
George worked very hard to make it work the way i asked to him...and it looks like he did the usual great job...

some colleagues write me after they test it at Namm and they seems really excited about it.
the goal would be to make it sound as fretless uoright but with a chance to use complex chird voicings without to be worried about intonation...

i'm in waiting to receive it yet but i'm ready to answer to any question about the bass, if you have it...

the bridge have some modified saddles from a dipiazza bridge, George build a new bridge for that bass.
the tuning is E-A-D-G-C with an hipshot de-tuner key on E string.
there's a piezo under the bridge... i can't wait to receive it!

That bass will make you even happier! I an typically not a fan of basses with a high C - it often sounds disconnected from the other strings, to my ear. But that bass just sang, from top to bottom, and it played like a dream!
