I saw the bass when I was still shopping for the car and I wasn’t sure how much I liked the green color on the bass. I really liked it on the car and so the bass kept growing on me, and I kept coming back to it and eventually caved. I’m glad I did. The finish looks fantastic in person. It’s hard to capture the metallic flakes since the light often reflects off the gloss.
Well…congrats on the car too. They really are the SAME color! The bass is way cooler, though. Haha.
I never thought of this, and I never took side by side pics but I guess my BNF5 and my Spector Euro were pretty darn close to my old car’s color. Oddly the only car color pic I could easily find on my phone was from when my license plates were stolen 
The only replacements I’ve ever liked in any bass are Nordstrand, so I may not be the one to ask.
I would ask Marcel his opinion for sure.
I put Alleva coppolo pickups in a vf5 JJ. Huge improvement over the aguilar HC’s that fbass supply as stock.
I played a Fralin pickup in a 52P and liked it a lot. Only experience I’ve had with them.
AC pickups should be the stock VF pickups. They surpass the Aguilar in all ways. Jimmy has the magic sauce that just works with the F preamp.
So I purchased my first F Bass this past February. The seller was local to F Bass so I had him drop off the bass with Marcel for some nice upgrades.
I swapped out the chrome hardware to black hardware with some gold splashes. New bridge to take the string spacing to 17.5mm from the standard 19mm. Had two ramps built so I have even spacing across the entire range of the bass. Marcel and team did a spectacular job in matching the ramps to the top wood. The bass ships this week, so after months of waiting I'll finally get to play my first F Bass. Now to find a fretless.....

I'm not generally big on that type of top, but that thing is stunning and so well matched by the F Bass team. Congrats! Agree with the choice on the bridge (spacing and color scheme).
No… I love the BN pickups and wouldn’t replace them. I am not a big fan of Aguilar pickups and would replace them or order something different.
This beauty is up on Reverb. Not affiliated, just drooling.
I like it… I’m a fan of the fades anyway and that one doesn’t disappoint. I’m trying really hard to pare down. I have 8 basses including two that aren’t in my position yet, so someone else will get to give that one a new home.
I’d love to have that fade hanging on my wall, but I just adopted my Deluxe 
I’m still blown away by my Deluxe (as I should be for the going rate). This bass is incredibly comfortable and easy to play. I’ve got an injury that makes it a bit rough getting lower than the 3rd fret position, but the rest of the board is pretty accessible. I’ve found myself getting occasionally thrown off by the fret dots on the side and how they mix with the birds eye.
The sounds are fantastic for my solo playing. I love dead silent pickups so I rarely use a solo single neck or bridge, but the combo of both in single mode is in the realm of what you’d expect from a JJ configuration. The parallel settings are good for a scooped/fat sounds. Series really does warm up and compress as advertised. I rarely find myself going for my Nordy Starlifter pre, though I do like the mild dirt added by my Hilbish Sol Invictus pre. I find myself bypassing my cab sim pedal too. I need to record things in a mix and see how my perspective shifts. For now I’m noodling around in ambient territory with lots of volume swells and reverb.
