It's weird--but very reasurring--to see them build 4-strings for their stock inventory.

Well then it’s like 2 basses in oneF Bass! Even the former CEO of Aguilar knows when to draw the line and not mess with perfection! I think I mentioned it previously but I purchased this bass from Dave Avenius. It also came with an extra gold pick guard because this bass is routed for a PJ configuration as well.

Beautiful! That pickguard is what really sets it off.My new-to-me VF5J arrived today. It’s a classy beast for sure.

(I took it straight out of the box to a gig and it was fabulous!) The 34"/16mm build works very well for me; I had to place it face-to-face with my Zon TJ6 to convince myself that it was narrower than that instrument's 16.5mm. And while the other BN/BNFs that I've owned have all been a bit too "polite" sounding for my general tone preferences in a dense band mix, this one is not.Just wanted to pop in and say that I am the very happy new owner of this fine instrument.(I took it straight out of the box to a gig and it was fabulous!) This is by FAR the most I've ever spent on an instrument, and I was prepared to be disappointed as a result of being super picky in order to justify the cost to myself, but it hasn't happened AT ALL. I think I'll be putting more than a few basses on the market soon -- partly to finance this purchase, but largely to pare down a collection of instruments that suddenly strikes me as much more redundant and unnecessary than it had before this one arrived.
I'll take a current pic sometime soon, but here's one of Donovan's pics from when he listed it for sale:

hard over that bass- just gorgeous!!! Congratulations on your purchase!Oh… and what are the specs on that gorgeous beast!?!?
Marcel let me know that my AC6 FL is ‘close’ to completion! Been trying not to think about it—makes time go by faster.Played my entire stable yesterday…the FBass preamp (and stock strings)…just something special going on there! I’m really appreciating the Trans Oly White finish more and more. (Lol—19mm spacing resembles an LA freeway, but fairly easy to navigate, given the spec’d extra-thin asymmetrical neck…) AC sibling arriving soon!View attachment 5276984

Now that my roasted ash BN5 has been restored to its former glory with a brand new F Bass preamp, I thought it was time for a family shot. I feel very fortunate to own these amazing basses.
