Looks like that sea foam on Reverb did a price drop and then moved out quickly. Thanks to whoever saved me.
Playing around with my Deluxe today and running it into my modular synth rig. I’m not doing much processing in that system but I do appreciate having the Deluxe pickup switches. I find it easier to dial in compatible sounds when playing in different parts of the neck. The series bridge setting thickens things up in the upper register while the parallel neck keeps the lower register from being overwhelming. I do kinda want a blend knob in place of independent volumes for quicker changes, but it’s not super critical.

Yeah, I got one last time I got strings from F Bass, but haven’t had it installed yet (I’m a terrible solderer). The one they sent is NOT a push pull though, so I’ll have to decide if I want vbt or bvt… of course, now I’m in no rush as a) I’m not in a band atm, and b)it’s a pretty great bass as is

I have a BN with V V T and the bridge and tone knobs are push pull. The one that is V B T the Volume and tone are push pull. A little different… not sure which I prefer, but both are functional.

A bit of an update on my "new to me" BN5. So I had my tech put the original F Bass preamp back in, removing the Trickfish the previous owner had installed. Whoever removed the original preamp must have damaged the mids pot in the process because it crackles and pops when I turn the knob. We tried a couple small fixes but I'm still having the issue. Amazingly, Marcel is replacing the preamp under warranty. This was obviously not F Bass' fault but their customer service is next level and very much appreciated. I can't wait to get my bass back to 100%!

Agree about Marcel and the F-Bass team. First class all the way! So glad I live a 45-min drive from them! But my bank account isn’t…LOL…
My new-to-me VF5J arrived today. It’s a classy beast for sure.
Does it have the FBass pre? Or an Aguilar one?
F Bass! Even the former CEO of Aguilar knows when to draw the line and not mess with perfection! I think I mentioned it previously but I purchased this bass from Dave Avenius. It also came with an extra gold pick guard because this bass is routed for a PJ configuration as well.
