Club Sadowsky!!!

If I have played and liked the Lakland DJ models, which Sadowsky is more like that one? I would assume the UV.

Lots of discussion on the actual pickup position of the DJ (60'd or 70's). The DJ has the downsized body, so the 'feel' would be more similar to the 'non UV' models. However, the DJ (at least the originals with the Aero's) were VERY aggressive sounding (i.e., very bright and very grindy). That is not really the Sadowsk thing, but the Sadowsky singles would be the closest to that tone.

Kind of different animals.

I pulled the trigger on a new UV70, here she is:

Here's the specs on mine...

Sadowsky Metroline UV70 4 String, 59 Burst Finish, Rosewood board, alder body, Ultra Vintage Series, full size body, 20 frets, block inlays, fingerboard binding, J/J pickups (70’s position), 2 band active/passive eq with VTC, pickguard, soft side case.

And can I get a number now?

Don't you guys notice how good the Sadowsky tone gets with age? I had mine for about 4 years now and listening to some old recordings I can hear that its tone has gotten better with age...:):):)

I was thinking the tone of mine had improved since April 2005, but I simply chalked it up to me appreciating it more. I don't have any recordings, but even if I had good ones and they showed a difference, the skeptic in me would conclude that my playing has improved, rather than the tone of the bass. But hey, if the tonal improvement was due to the bass and not me, well, I'd be perfectly cool with that too. :p

She's a beaut, thanks for the pic. And welcome to the club!

The photo you posted has an ash body.
B.

It would appear so...but I've seen some finely figured alder that had the initial look of ash (and it is a photo). Does not Bikeplate have an alder body Metro with a maple neck? There are rumored instances of occasional exceptions to the standard stated configurations. Just sayin'... ;)

If this bass has an alder body I seriously need "help". :eyebrow: ;)
