Ken's Trans-Orange is a solid 2 piece Ash body. It is not weight Reduced. Trans colors or Natural are usually not weight reduced.

The trans-orange is one of those colors that looks better in person. All the beautiful black grain coming through from the ash gives it a very 'burnt orange' type look.

I had taken the plunge on an ash/maple Metro MV5 a while back, and that particular bass just didn't do it for me (every bass is different). It was very lightweight, and it had plenty of upper mid zing and treble, but not the authority down low that I like. This one has AUTHORITY. I'm not sure if it's the slightly heavier body or the singles, but man does it punch and growl and grind.

The higher tension Blue SS (versus my Hi Beams) will take a couple hours to get used to.. not as much give, but I dig them.

Beautiful set-up. I just took the G and D down a smidge to match the radius of the board and it was good to go!

Hey you M5-24'ers out there, what kind of strings do you like with them? Right now I think I have sadowsky nickles on it. I would think the stainless steel ones would be extremely bright given the nature of the bass. Anyone have experience suggesting otherwise?

I'm still using the older black label SS strings, and really dig those on it a lot. I have yet to try the new blue labels, but I will. :)

HI

Patience, people. I just got the new bass yesterday. Just got home from a local show. It sounded oh so good. It was plugged in to my newly acquired SA200 and Sadowsky 2x10. Wow, what tone. I havent used a real tube amp in over 20 years. So different from my Epifani. Soooo dynamic. Really amazing amp.

The bass is nice, too. A neck to die for. Ill get some pics up hopefully tomorrow

Nice... I was a little 'swept away' yesterday when mine arrived, so this one kind of slipped by. It's a beauty!!!! We will look forward to you take on it next week!
