+1... I was happy.. it's less 'highway cone' orange and more dark with lots of swirl. I really dig the look, and it really looks nice with the relatively dark 'vintage tint' on the neck, which has a touch of orange-like color in there anyway.

Stunning!!! So which cab do you prefer it with so far - the 410UL or the AE410? I know the A-C is a great match with the 410UL and the Celinder kills with the AE410...and this Sadowsky kinda sits in the middle of those basses tonewise...

There's so much grind and upper mid presence in this bass that it just punches with the Epi. It sounds good with the AE410, but it's a 'little much' with the very tight F1.K
Nice... there goes the chance of me exercising my dibs... right out the window... but you know, that's a good thing!The orange has landed. Oh my... it is just KILLER sounding. I'll post up a picture and a few general impressions after I spend more time with it, but I already emailed Roger the boys and told them to 'mark it sold'.
It's exactly what I expected. Lot's of authority, lots of grind due to the singles, and the typical perfect set-up and general fit and finish.
And... as a die hard HI Beams guy, and an 'original Sadowsky black label steel disliker', so far, I'm totally digging the Blue Label steels. Kind of like the Lo Riders but punchier.
I'll post up a few pictures (although mine won't be as good as the ones on the site) in a while.
I likey a lotty. Thanks to Joey, Fran and indirectly Tal: for inspiring me to take the 'ash single coil' plunge in the Sadowsky.

The trans-orange is one of those colors that looks better in person. All the beautiful black grain coming through from the ash gives it a very 'burnt orange' type look.
I had taken the plunge on an ash/maple Metro MV5 a while back, and that particular bass just didn't do it for me (every bass is different). It was very lightweight, and it had plenty of upper mid zing and treble, but not the authority down low that I like. This one has AUTHORITY. I'm not sure if it's the slightly heavier body or the singles, but man does it punch and growl and grind.
The higher tension Blue SS (versus my Hi Beams) will take a couple hours to get used to.. not as much give, but I dig them.
Beuatiful set-up. I just took the G and D down a smidge to match the radius of the board and it was good to go!
Ken, our personal tastes vary a lot on some things, but there's one thing I'm damn sure of... I would completely love every bass in this picture. Ash and maple are AWESOME together, and these are three of the VERY best examples. Dang... MEGA DROOL!

It's ash (the site says 'solid ash' so I assume it's not routed), 8.6 pounds, the color is called trans-orange (lot's of beautiful ash grain showing through), and I had the stock pickups swapped out for the Sadowsky single coils (boy do I like that!). The neck has the vintage tint, and I assume it's the 'standard' nitro finish.
This bass, again, has a very, very solid feel when you dig into it. I still totally dig my NYC RV5, which is significantly lighter, has the HC pickups, and is a bit more warm and 'airy' up top. This thing GRINDS
I'm reeeeeeaaaallllyyy considering a NYC PJ5 as my next bass purchase. The more I hear the Sadowsky tone, the more I love it for what it is. It will be a completely different tone than my Alleva and that's why the purchase makes sense. They will both serve different roles.

Does Solid Ash mean one piece body, or just non-routed?
