jeeze this is a tough one.... I wan't really expecting to drop $4K today, lol - but this is sure making me want to! friggin GAS, and yes - I am a tone freek. :)

Don't buy the bass.
For one it seems apparent you don't really want to buy it. Another is that its blue... and only crazy people play blue basses. Also it does not have a P pickup and therefore designed TOTALLY WRONG. Not to mention its blue... a fantastic blue at that. You need a bass that looks like an old worn coffee table.
:D

Seriously though, if its about tone then buy it. You won't be disappointed.
If its about other things like money or your wife finding out you dropped another $4k on a bass when you just bought one 2 months ago then you should wait until the purchase order clears.
That's what I must do on my next Sadowsky purchase. :)

lol....

Its all about tone - cash is fine and wife is fine :)

I have an Alder/Rosewood Fender Jazz that is very nice, but at times too mellow / muddy? (east indian rosewood).
and
I also have my Sadowsky MV4 Ash/Maple which is also very nice, but at times, I wish it had a bit more warmth... and my Fender can be warm, but at times I find it too mellow / muddy.

And here is this NYC Ice Blue Bliss - Ash body (punch and lively attack), Brazilian RW Board (for a warmer "give"). I see this as a Hybrid of sorts of what I own - best of both worlds, ya know?

I see this as sitting right in the middle of the two. Do I NEED it? Nah.... Would it be a nice splurge? Sure would be :) and would fill the "gap" that I'm not getting out of either of my 60's style Jazzes - at least thats how I keep justifying it to myself ;)

I played this wood combo at Rogers shop and it was great. The bass was spoken for, but it gave me a great idea of what I would be getting **cough** If I bought this... and the tone was awsome. :)

My gosh, that's beautiful! I love that color!

You guys are absolutley horrible! lol... I ask for help, and I get this :D
C'mon now, don't say you didn't know what the response was gonna' be before you posted... we know better... :)

Oh yeah, and I also think you should get it. :)

Bah, just do what I did: show her the Fodera price list. That Sad is comparatively cheap.
Ummm, I think you mean "inexpensive"... ;) :D
