Club Sadowsky!!!

Maybe a Dumb Question: Will a stock fender plate work on a Sadowsky? I thought that Fender screws were in a square pattern and Sadowskys were slightly triangularly offset.

(Not to kill the cool Iron Maiden plate buzz . . . )

Wouldn't work on mine. There's no plate.

Well what top are you getting? also what color? PS a pic and post it, we can help you decide. If you have a delicious top then i would go bare, NO GUTTER thoughts guys....LOLOL!

Well, the MV5-PJ came in earlier. Haven't spent a bunch of time with it yet though I can say that I'm liking the different midrange obtained with the PJ setup vs JJ. I've never been a P bass guy but, coupled with the bridge J, this may be the way to go for me. Add in the maple board and you get a touch of snappiness with the the low-mid growl and fatness of the P...me likey! The cherryburst finish looks even better in person (pics always seem to make a more definitive line in the burst than what's actually there).

Next gig isn't til November 10th so I've got some time to tinker but I'm anxious to hear this one in the mix. I seriously doubt it'll disappoint.

You are hilarious bluesy! If memory serves correctly, you have a "fancy" top on your 4 and a trad sunburst on your P5? In that case, go with a classic color in the PJ4 like Sonic Blue or CAndy Apple Red or Olympic Whit. That way, you'll have a full variety!

I should have asked about it though. Which body style are you getting? Maple or rosewood?

I'm pretty strongly in the 'fancy top, NYC / plain and Pickguard, Metro' camp, so I think you know which way I'd go.

Gonna be a P body or a J one?

Yeah, I'm a fan of the dot-less boards...just looks sleek. There's just something special sound wise with the Mahogany/Ebony combination and I really like it on my 24F5.

Are you planning on going the universal route? If I were going to get an NYC built, I think I'd have to opt for the JJ/PJ/reverse PJ route so I'd have it all covered.
