That still wouldn't get rid of the pop. It'd actually have to be more complicated than that.Right, I see it now. Otherwise, you'd need to add an on/off switch. Which would de-elegantise the pre. Which would bug me. Makes perfect sense.
And uh... Just goes to show you how much I know about wiring :-/
Thing is, it's not really necessary. Batteries last for hundreds of hours, so while I definitely wouldn't leave a bass plugged in at home, I don't think it's necessary to unplug between sets, given a typical local gig set schedule (10-20m breaks).
