I have Fat Stacks in my 4-24 and it is most definitely becoming my favorite all around bass. Even with the neck position set further back, I still get a nice full round sound when needed.

Yea that was what I thinking. What my concern is the pickups.

What's cool about them is you can literally use less rig power and still cut a mix like a ginsu knife, but if you want that bigger rounder low end, you have to have a neck pickup closer to the neck. You can spec a bass with the soaps spaced out like that, which I considered doing, but just ended up sticking what what I know with the J style pickups.

It's the reason I ended up selling my (amazing) "modern" style NYC and replacing it with a 24F JJ (which is what my new build is).

This is very close to what my new build will look like, FWIW...

I've seen the Fralin version of that '51 pickup, I bet the Lollar one is great too.

I assume this.. I haven't had issues with Hum.

I always though it was a dummy coil thing. I bought the bass used off of Kenny Ames about a year+ ago. Only other sadowsky I've ever had was a 90 era 4 string. This has some relation to my question in the next post because the neck on this one was kinda beefy (Although still1.5 nut).

I have a 65 l series jazz... sweetest neck ever.. very thin C neck. I've had this bass forever and it's 'home" For me. Lakland Joe's seem close but I'm wondering about the WL.

I know the WL has a 1.45 nut. What is the rest of the carve like??? C/D??Is it like a NYC Bass just with the thinner nut? Or is it different???

Standard is a fullish C but you can order an nyc however you like. I like stock, theres some meat to it but not too much. Will lee just narrows the nut, im pretty sure the neck depth is still normal (just like the early 70s jazz i had)

I was the 2nd owner of this bass and thought it was pretty cool.. The Lollar has a real nice grunt to it and sounded preety close to an Original P...

Could I order a "Will lee" with a full size body??? Every thing WL just... traditional body.

One thing that I'm concerned with is that I really like the traditional upper horn reach of the fender. With a strap lock it extends all the way to the 11th fret. The Shorter the horn the further the nut is from my left shoulder and the greater the angle of my wrist to get the F on the first fret E string.

While many vintage basses are light my 65 is not truly light.. 9 lbs 2 ounces. That is main reason for wanting to get a new bass.

I would think not. The WL is a signature model and not customizable. You can get a full size body and have the neck shaped to be the same as a WL but, you would not be able to get the preamp with the mid control or 22 frets on the neck.

While you can of course, do what you want, I really like those Barts.
I'd keep them, and buy a set of Sadowsky single coils...keep the Barts; IMO.
