The black bridge and chrome tuners are unique too. It's not something I would think to do, but it works really well on that bass!

I don't think Roger has done too many (if any) 24 fret 5 strings with a reverse P/J setup with a vintage style pick guard and control plate. Plus, having the option of dropping in another Big Split makes this a very unique Sadowsky indeed!

AWESOME!... I must say, this bass already sort of inspired me for my new build (yeah, I know, detox don't work...again
)(24-5, 59 burst, RW, blocks, and Fat stacks...) Now I realise, vintage pick guard would go well with black hardware...hmmmm
The control plate is chrome, it just looks black in the picture. Can't remember the last bass I owned with chrome hardware, so I thought it would look cool on this bass. I think Roger and crew just hit it out of the ballpark with this bass. I couldn't be happier with how it turned out! Now I just have to keep an eye out for the big brown truck!

I'm sure this has been discussed somewhere here on TB, but have any of you guys done an A/B comparison of an F Bass VF5 and Sadowsy vintage? I know that you guys are Sadowsky fans, as am I, that's why I want your opinions. Thanks.

I had a VF5. Killer craftsmanship, great preamp, a work of art, but it suffered from the usual 5 string afflictions. They go lower but sound smaller. The E sounds like an A. Sadowsky is one of the only builders where you get 5 burly rocking strings on your 5 string bass.

Roger was kind enough to send me pics of quite a few pickguards on the bass. The tort was cool, but looked a little too vintage on what I though is a pretty modern looking bass. The black was very nice, but a bit plain looking. I though the mint just looked right, plus that subtle green tint really changed the overall vibe of the body color. The bass appears more brownish with the mint guard and with the white, or black guard, the yellow popped a bit more. Color wheel stuff and all.
Just doing a setup on my Standard 5. Even with no discernible relief the bass is buzz free. A good reminder of how impeccable the fretwork is on these things. 
It's perfect and it looks like a KILLER! Can't wait to hear your thoughts thru your 2x12, 1x12, etc.
