My totally baseless assumption is that Roger is trying to favor the supply chain a bit more strongly and focus a bit more on the NYC stuff you can only get through him.

Need to look elsewhere for the Metros. The only thing I have found useful in that respect is the links Roger has to their dealer web pages. I do keep looking at those RV5 WL's out there.
Agree with Chef that the Metros are so good that, how do I put this?, I really want to get an NYC for the simple reason that I like Roger's work so much; but, at the same time, the RV is killin' it and I know the NYC won't give me anything more in that department.
Anyhow, I keep looking. If I ever decide to unload my Tobias, the NYC shop is my next step.

On the stock update, if that Sage Green Will Lee 5 string had a matching headstock I probably would have been all over it !!!

Having owned both there is definitely a difference in Metros and NYCs. Not saying one is better but the NYC's are lighter and a little more resonate, probably due to the chambering. Metros have a little more natural compression IMO.
Of course, you can get a non-chambered NYC. But, I'm always amazed how light my NYC is compared to the Metros I've owned. My shoulders are grateful.

I've grown to like my two metros more than the majority of nyc's I've owned. Chambering is not my friend
My non-chambered NYC is no less resonant than the chambered NYC I used to own. In fact, I don't think I've ever owned a bass that was as loud un-amplified as my current NYC.
Absolutely LOVE my recently acquired Will Lee Metro...the playability and sound are superb but I still have more neck dive even though I bought a Sadowsky strap as recommended

It's all a matter of preference and taste. What works best for you is all that matters. I like a

+1. My solid ash PJ is really loud and I can feel the vibration of the whole instrument with every note I play like I do on my DB. It0s also very light for a full size P body and 1.75 neck at 8.3 lbs.
Yes. To be specific, the Dunlop Dual Design straplocks, which are the best locks I've ever tried, and blow the Schallers out of the water (I'll spare you all my Schaller rant). I've had DDDs on all my basses since around Y2K: I've had zero problems, and they work pretty darn well with an unlocked strap (about as well as the original Fender buttons).
Anyway, it's no surprise to me that Sadowsky selected the Dunlops.
TOTALLY agree that DDD's CRUSH Schaller and seem to be one to have but these look interesting to me

I am considering getting another Sadowsky. What has bothered me in the past (very minor) is the control layout. I prefer a VVT stacked treble bass, also would insist on single coils. Can I do these mods to a metro out of the gate or do I need to go NYC?

I haven't tried the Loxx yet, but here's what I see:
- Advantages: easier installation than Dunlop, more finishes
- Disadvantage: not a "dual design"? I don't see how it would work with an unlocked strap.
