I haven't tried the Loxx yet, but here's what I see:

• Advantages: easier installation than Dunlop, more finishes
  
• Disadvantage: not a "dual design"? I don't see how it would work with an unlocked strap.
  

I have used these. Went back to the DDD after I had left my strap at home and tried to borrow someone else's, the Loxx would not allow me to do this. Other than that they were fine to use and really easy on, easy off.

You can do that to a metro yourself or have any decent tech do it.

Thank you for the confirmation. The Dual Design feature is a big deal for me. I've forgotten to bring a locked strap in the past, and probably will again. I doubt it would happen at a gig.... but never say never, and even at a rehearsal or jam I wouldn't want to be forced to play seated.

Except I have to buy a metro and single coils. Plus pots for the preamp? If I had it done when I bought it would they do the swap so I don't have to buy two sets of pickups?

True. Of course you could sell the HC's, but it won't totally cover.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think you can have pickup swaps and VVT mods done to Metros (when you place your order) for an upcharge. ???

I think that was only if you purchased from Roger's shop?

Yeah, I seem to recall that it might be an option only if you are ordering new and direct from Roger. The only other "change" you might be able to make is to specify nickel or flats vs. ss. I'm sure Roger will chime in.

It's funny how guys get used to a control layout, then want all of their basses to be similar. I wish my F-Bass BN5 was Vol, Pan, Tone, vs the VVT that it is, and have been thinking about having it switched.

I use to own the twin, but it had a rosewood board.. I think this one may have belonged to Hugh McDonald...

I just received my first pictures from my new Sadowsky PJ5 build. The transparent black finish has not been added, yet. I love the Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard. It will look great after it is oiled. It should be ready in May.

The extra cost is pretty minor -- or get a metro will lee, they come with singles. Personally i think duncan sjb1/sjb5s sound great in a sadowsky and are really cheap.

Does the 5 string bridge on the Metro's work with all brands of strings? I've read of issues in the past with some types/brands of strings, and I'm wondering if it is still an issue.

I've not heard this, nor have I had any problems with any of the ones I've owned.

Heard of some TI ball ends coming out of Sadowsky bridges...but couldnt tell you what specific bridge model or if it was 4' and 5's. I have had TI E string ball end pop out of my Metro hybrid pj twice when stringing up. But no problems since. And no, it didnt slide over to the larger opening in the bridge before coming out...It came through the point where it is supposed to be held. But only happened twice.
