Honestly, I recently picked up a 2014 Fender P5 that had the exact same thing happen to. Last week I picked up a fret end dressing file from Stew Mac. Never having done this before, I took my time and within an hour the bass was done and smooth like there was never an issue. Invalid Link Removed

You used just the fret dressing file, but I could see how the 3-corner would help for ends that stick way out.

Ha! Actually I owned a Sadowsky Modern 5 (tiger's eye #4770) with a maple board. I still regret the day I sold her and if I ever see her on here again, I will snatch her up. My favorite is the PJ, but they all sound distinct and are outstanding. I can just dial up any tone on that PJ5.

Just wanted to drop a note about the trick mentioned a page ago, running some boost on the treble EQ and then dialing it back with the VTC.

I've mostly run the EQ flat (or sometimes with a little bass boost) and used the VTC as needed to control the top end. Been quite happy with doing that, but last night, at practice, I tried the boost-treble-pull-it-back-with-the-VTC trick. Wow! More presence, but no added fret clack.

Yeah, there's some tone magic in the way that pre works.

I could be wrong, but I thought the Sadowsky 5 string P pickup is a Nord.

3 of my PJ5s are a Duncan... One bought new. Two used. they were ordered that way

I suppose you could spec a Duncan, when you order, or have one swapped in, but looking at new ones on the Sadowsky site, they have the staggered poles of the Nord pups...
Like I said, I could be (and often am!) wrong........

I think it was a Lollar to Sadowsky specs when it was available. Might not be the case now.

Tully Kennedy now has my 2003 Candy Apple Red PJ5... I bought his 2004 Black, Brazilian FB that also had a Duncan. I just got a second hand PJ5 about a month ago from 2014 and it has a Duncan //// Ordered that way..

I would take a guess at what the P4 is. but that wont help anyone here.
The J hum canceller are or were Dimarzio Ultra Jazz ... Not 100% sure if thet just re branded or a special sauce super top secret wind... ..

I'll post a picture of the Sadowsky P 4 pickups. They came with the bass but the bass has Nordys. I've never heard the pickups so before I go to the trouble of swapping, I was trying to gather some info.
