Took my UV 60 Jazz out for some air today!
Received the go ahead to have another NYC built for fathers day this year!
Spoke with Dan this morning, what a great guy to work with. He listened to what I want, not what he thinks I should want (unlike a previous experience) and gave me some great tips.
So far it will be:
RV5
Alder
Soaps in 60's position
Firemist Gold
Morado board
Maybe blocks
1 7/8 nut
Black out hardware
Tort PG... unless I get a suggestion from the fine folks here...
8.5 lb range
White shadow logo
Should be a nice compliment to my CAO RV5 J from fathers day 2014!
It may be a long 10 months!

I don't know if Metros feature the same bridge as the NYC basses, but 18mm bridges are available for NYC basses. I have them on all of my NYC fivers. You can purchase them from Sadowsky, but you'd have to call them to get it. They're not advertised on the website.
I have a 2 year old and 8 month old twins... and I retired my construction company to be a stay at home dad, you could call it my paycheck. Oh, and I have the best wife!
Nice! My first Sadowsky was a father's day present, I think back in 2005. My wife asked Roger to call me on my cell phone and ask me what I would like him to build for me.
I love my wife, don't get me wrong, but where were these women when I was on the market?
If it makes you feel better, I got a 2014 Honda Odyssey for my 50th - which upon seeing this my 20 yo niece said... you drive a mom van!
It does make a great gig mobile, and I do still have my Silverado!
Hey Guys/Gals. I just received an MS5. It's used, but just barely. No wear at all. And I love it. But, I've a question. This is only the 3rd Sadowsky I've owned in the 40 years I've been playing. The pole pieces under the G string on both pickups are set down below the plastic pup cover at least a 1/16". The rest of the pole pieces are where they should be just above the pup covers. The pups appear to be the original Sadowsky pups as they have the Sadowsky name embossed on them. At this point I don't know if they are HCs or single coils as I just unboxed the bass.
I've never seen this before. Is it common for the treble side poles to sit below the pickup covers on a Sadowsky?
I've pulled the pups to see if the covers were not seated over the coils correctly, but they are.
What do ya'll think?

I have seen "radiased" pole pieces to follow the radias of the fingerboard with some pickup manufacturers.
I don't think this has anything to do with that. G string poles are sunk below the pup covers by 1/16". The D string poles are above the covers like they should be.

Just learned from Roger that this is normal. Never seen this done like this before. I've seen the center poles raised, but never the outer poles sunk below the covers.....I still learn something every day!
