Sadowsky had no issue at all in making a WL with a 1 & 7/8 neck when I placed my order (Jan 2014), and if you don't order a wacky color, I doubt you'd experience any undue delay receiving one. I had a beautiful LPB WL5 that I bought from RWider a while ago; never had a bass sound better in the near field on stage. The narrow neck was great for Uncle Will, but not so much for me, and thus the custom order- Sea Foam Green with matching headstock.

Somehow I was misinformed or made a bad assumption, thank you for the correction. A WL5 is now back on my wish list. Love your build, BTW -- I look forward to pics when it arrives!

Then by chance I located a late 2014 late model Metro # M7856 with the new carbon reinforced neck the other month. No fret wear, no dings, no nothing, and really cheap. So instead of wondering what the talk was all about, I decided to just shut up and put up. After all there's enough talking on talkbass about the love and hate for clones, I decided I wasn't going to contribute to that crap.

I am literally blown away. This thing is so well designed. Plays well, fits well, build is perfect, tone is versatile. It's almost boring without being boring. It's like a sophisticated but brutal / powerful Fender. The most incredible thing is that no matter how small, bad, crappy, good, excellent the amp, I can always find a good tone with this instrument. And I can find one very quickly. The loudness doesn't affect the tone. There is no messing around with this thing. This is truly an instrument that one can take anywhere and play without wondering about tone issues. I can now see why so many people use this as their main instrument.

I now see what the fuss was all about. I have other professional grade equipment and all of them sound good but this thing not only sounds good, it fits my body well, easy to cart around, easy to play, great b string, great tones, and easy to dial in. It doesn't hurt to have an instrument that others recognize the name either. LOL Anyway Unbelievable. I am no longer a skeptic.
