We like the Sadowsky Soapbar in the bridge position with a P pickup, as they are more equal in output than a P and J.
IMHO, a raised pole on the A string would only affect the volume/tone of the A string, not the entire instrument.
She's also great with customer service - a real asset to the Sadowsky crew.
Well, here is the latest family shot with all the current amps and cabs.
I have a set of 5 string Sadowsky J pups. The bag they are in is marked Single coil. But I can't for for the life of me remember having a spare set of SC's. I really need to I.D. them can anyone tell the difference between SC's and Hum canceling laying on the bench? There are green, red and grey wires and a Sadowsky logo on front. I'm thinking they are more than likely a set of hum canceling pups from one of several metros I have owned in the past. But I have them in a bag marked single coil go figure. lol
They sound like HC's to me. Pop one out of the cover and look to see if you see a split in the flatwork and coils. I'm pretty sure Sadowsky uses a split-coil configuration for his HC's as opposed to a stacked type.

Absolutely HC's. You can see the two different magnets which means they are split coil.
Got it BassmusM6674! it only makes sense that I would have humcancelling extras. guess I left them in the SC packeage and din't relabel

I was surprised they didn't have tension on the neck when Julie was doing that fret job.
I strongly dislike plekd basses. Expert fretwork done by hand is one of the most important parts of any build.
I have no experience with having a bass done on a Plek machine. What is it you don't like?
Not arguing! Just wanting to learn. And my WL5s have great fretwork, so I know what that feels like.
If i'm not mistaken the truss rod is for counteracting the string tension so perfect fretwork with no tension would be the ideal. Add strings and tweak the truss rod to bring the neck back to the carefully leveled starting point. Or slightly bowed for no fret buzz. Although my NYC P has no buzz with a flat fret board.
Lakland does it on their Skylines, and I think it works well there, particularly since they're trying to meet a lower price point. I still prefer the fretwork done by hand on their US models. But hey, that's one of the reasons they cost more.
