Club Sadowsky!!!

Fran
Those are all nice basses. I inquired on the Black one myself, but I really want a 21 fret, 9" radius like my #4018. I like the down sized bodies too although I would take a full. Most of the full size are 20 fret and 9" radius.

So my current ideal spec for my next Sad NYC:
Vintage 4 string 21 fret
Ash body, 8.5 lbs., busy tight grain
BEM board, 9" radius.
Chrome hardware
Single coils
VTC
Vintage Tint Finish, deeper yellow/darker
Black or Tort p/g
Drop D-tuner.

examples below:

very nice...ah! and order both pickguards.

It's not on the website.

Specs:
- Full size solid swamp ash (vintage tint).
- Sadowsky Single coil pickups.
- Maple/maple neck (vintage tint).

It's nothing special specwise, but a really special bass!!! if you know what I mean. Very light for a solid full size body and as I said, the fattest G string I've ever heard.

My short list of candidates for the pair would be:
#1:

#2:

#3 (this is giving me a lot of GAS, but not really what I need...I really want a rosewood board for more variety):

#2 is like one of mine, but mine doesn't have a painted headstock.

I have been drooling over #5081 on the in-stock page and am wondering if anyone here has played her and what the overall sound is with the alder body, ebony board and Nordstrand Big Singles...can anyone chime in?

If no one here has any info I'll most likely call the shop tomorrow and ask. That one is driving me crazy and I really want some info!!!

Thanks in advance!

Mark

I've been lusting after that one too... no worries, though - no bass purchases in the near future for me. I have a jones for a McPherson guitar instead...:hiding:

I've been going back through the Club Sadowsky history of posts and let me remind you all what a terrible thing to do. :rollno: The GAS is killing me. :crying: I really want a new/pre-owned Sadowsky 5 string someday so I went back through the Club posts to find sound clips of soaps, nordies, and/or p/j configs. I never found any - got too caught up in the photos! LOL!
I've read tons of descriptions of these pups but I would really like to hear them. Hopefully, the Sadowsky website will have more of these sound files someday.

Can any of you help me out? Any other websites or links to check out that you know of?

Here we go again... :)
