Very nice, Rob! 2nd thing that comes to mind is that the 24/4 is worming its way into my brain and the BEM on that Standard is insane!!! I've saved a few pix of that one and have to give a little peek during the day to keep me going.

Soundmen and people I trust say the 24/4 sounds the best out front. Its super light, plays great. The 5 was a big surprise. It was a project me and Rob L. at the shop put together. An NOS neck, orphan body, etc. It has amazing low action and super tone. Big bottom!! I use very little bass boost with it. 8.4lbs to boot and I dont like 5 string basses. LOL

Then the look of the 24/4 is just to boot.
That is the nicest 5 I've seen and really dig the diamond layout. That birdseye is about to peck me in the faCE!!

Thanx, J. Ive always loved the diamond layout for the controls. The black and natural bass show that, both custom orders. I bought the JJ4(caramel burst over quilt top) 2nd hand from Nino. Already with the diamond layout. Gives the jazz bass shape a hotrod look to me.

+1 on that...I like the look of the diamond layout as well. I love it on my NYC 24-5. I did not know Roger offered it as on option on the other models...Hmmmm. The older Lull 24 frets had it as well. But, he has switched to the more traditional layout now.

not to derail the current chat...but I sold my Fender Custom Shop Jazz V today...shipped it out to 'bassjam'. I'm one step closer (several months away actually) from a new or pre-owned Sadowsky 5....I'm on the prowl. It's actually a sad time and exciting all at the same time. 
Definitely do not want another j/j combo since I'm already there.
I guess I should add that I needed to sell it because we've got a Sadowsky guitar coming any day now...

holy crap that nyc standard 5 is just perfect...
It's not on the website.
Specs:
- Full size solid swamp ash (vintage tint).
- Sadowsky Single coil pickups.
- Maple/maple neck (vintage tint).
It's nothing special specwise, but a really special bass!!! if you know what I mean. Very light for a solid full size body and as I said, the fattest G string I've ever heard.
My short list of candidates for the pair would be:

Agreed, Walt I think you need to send it down to the moderate winter climate of GA. It will be well cared for here.

I was hoping my new fretless would be ready this month.....but Kevin told me it is slated for January!
Ever since Kevin emailed me the photo of the body, boy can I smell it.........but just can't taste it yet!
I guess the Classic Vibe Squier P-Bass that I just bought will have to hold me over until the fretless arrives!

Those are all nice basses. I inquired on the Black one myself, but I really want a 21 fret, 9" radius like my #4018. I like the down sized bodies too although I would take a full. Most of the full size are 20 fret and 9" radius.
So my current ideal spec for my next Sad NYC:
Vintage 4 string 21 fret
Ash body, 8.5 lbs., busy tight grain
BEM board, 9" radius.
Chrome hardware
Single coils
VTC
Vintage Tint Finish, deeper yellow/darker
Black or Tort p/g
Drop D-tuner.

Couldn't resist the scene right outside our patio door.
She was only out for about a min. for my daughter to snap pic. brought her right back in to nice cozy warm. Sure am enjoying her! My first Sadowsky and now can feel,hear and see the quality that are in Rogers bass's.
