I've never had a PJ, so I really can't say. The neck pup solo did a "reasonable" impersonation of a P. Not dead on, but close enough in a mix.
I have a sadowsky pj . I was just lokking for more punch from the modern .when I play classic rock with guitar and drummer, it get lost , just like my roscoe use to before I sold it ..I thought maybe the big singles would add the punch. Maybe not so much
Another work in progress: ash body/morado board WL 5 with the super J pup at the bridge. Peter just sent me this pic of the body. Very nice grain, for a trans white finish. And Peter tells me it's exceptionally light weight.
My sentimental favorite 2005 Sadowsky P5 gets a bit more love with my hard rock band, but my custom 2010 "MM5" gets plenty of gigs too!
There's also Red, my CAR 2010 P5 which has been strung with TI flats for awhile because she's been my Motown Machine. However I just heard a rumor about Sadowsky Blue Label flats, and I'll get a set of those for her if/when they become available.

Posted a video discussing why my Sadowsky is my go-to studio bass.
My bad: the rumor was about a 5-string set of blue label flats. That's what I need!
I understand the difficulty. B strings are tricky, especially with flats for some reason.
Awesome video, and loved the song. I have to agree with you on everything, these are great instruments to work with.

Thanks for checking it out! Sadowsky really has made the fast pace of Nashville sessions easier on me.

Edit: Aaaah, saw your update. You seemed to like how they felt anyway, so you're halfway there.
That's right. Loved the blue label flats on your fretless!
My choice right now is to string the available four string set alongside my Thomastik-Infeld B string (which I might do!), or wait for the rumored five string set.
(I did not specify "5 string" initially

Ah; neglected the 5 strings issue! My bad. Could always do the hybrid thing with Blues for the main 4.
Loved that video as well. You give a nice explanation of Sadowsky basses, then oh-by-the-way totally nail the bass track.
I am thinking about doing exactly that!
