Club Sadowsky!!!

Sadowsky guys - there's something I'm trying to figure out and the search isnt helping - 250k and 500k vol pot question. My metros have one of each. The older Metro JJ5 has the 250K and SC's, the newer PJ5 has the 500k. I know the P pickup is loud, I've compensated with changing pickup heights but I still feel the PJ5 is much louder than the JJ5 with the 250k vol pot and SC's.

So that leaves me with this - I've read the 500k pot "opens up the highs" but would that mean a perceived or actual increase in volume as well?

That's why I love my NYC J5 and why it's my go-to bass out of 7.
Love that 'B' and how it comes alive in the mix.
One of the best articles I've seen on TB.

Thank you. I really appreciate that! Yes, the Sadowsky B string is worth the price of admission for me. So tight and punchy!

Let me get an official answer for you tomorrow.

Excellent video. It's interesting that you run bass and treble at 50%. Your tone is tight and punchy but "pillow-y" for lack of a better word.

Do you run your volume wide open? Are these humcancelling pickups?

Yes the volume is wide open and it's the older hum cancelling Sadowsky's in there. I usually have the VTC rolled off a bit but these strings are nice and broke in and I've opened the circuit up all the way.

Yes, you can custom order a NYC fretless. There is no Metroline option. Very rare to see one on the Stock page. But, it's an option on NYC models.

long time lurker on here, don't recall this being asked. Does Roger or Tokyo make any fretless?
