That's awesome. When I'm recording I am ABSOLUTELY staring at my sode dots. The 'tape' hasn't had enough drinks to not notice my flubs.

Anyone seen these 'Luminlay' side dots in person? An unlined board with those on the side at the fret position might be cool. They seem a little larger in diameter from the one pic I saw of a WL with them.

I have Luminlay side dots on my Martin Keith. They are larger than the Sadowsky side dots. The glow-in-the-dark feature is cool and useful, but to get there you have to activate the inlays with a flashlight (a tiny blue LED flashlight is supplied), and a decent glow lasts 20-30 minutes (?), less than the 1 hour sets I typically play. I'm still glad I got 'em.

My other solution is the FretFx stick-on LED strip -- I have it on two of my Sadowskys. The LEDs are very bright with a fresh battery. They are a little tricky to install, and not transferable once installed, but I love 'em.

I'd definitely prefer inlaid LEDs, but I've never had the budget for that.

I've had Luminlay markers on some of my MTDs. They're surprisingly efficient. Most stage lights will activate the markers so you don't need the activator "flashlight" on stages with professional lighting. I don't like the idea of Simms-type LEDs on a bass - too much extra weight and too flashy for my tastes. If I remember correctly, the Luminlays are available in different sizes.

Well there ya go, I don't often play stages with pro lighting. One of my regular rooms has decent lights, but they are all in front of the elevated stage, so my side dots wind up being in shadow.

I don't like the idea of Simms-type LEDs on a bass - too much extra weight and too flashy for my tastes.

Interesting: extra weight never occurred to me. As for the bling-bling effect: I would only get inlaid LEDs for side dots, never face dots -- but even so my FretFx start out very bright (see below), probably overkill for many players.

I purchased an MV5 off of the Sadowsky web site about a month ago. Fantastic instrument! The punch, versatility and playability are superb. I've played Fenders all my life but this bass certainly takes it to another level. As many have said, I wish I hadn't waited so long to check out a Sadowsky.

My bad: the rumor was about a 5-string set of blue label flats. That's what I need!

I understand the difficulty. B strings are tricky, especially with flats for some reason.

I am sure we have Blue Label 5 string flats!!! I will check with my guys on why the webstore does not show them!

Anyone have an older and a new one see differences. Maybe the newer are more warmer and the older a little more brighter? Or maybe the other way around.

I don't think you can come to any meaningful conclusions by making these kinds of comparisons. Each bass is going to be different - even with the same specs, even from the same batch.

Same for me! I received my Sadowsky a several days ago. I also played Fender for the most part of my life. I've played Fender American Deluxe Precision V. These are the best Fenders I've ever played, but the Sad takes to another level. Even if I'm still impressed by the ADPV as it's still a great bass, even compared to the Sad.
