Talking about LEDs... I got this for my 24 frets and opt for Leds as well for a new build.. really useful for dark stage.
Featured a toggle switch on choosing Side Dot or both Side/Face dot if I wanna go crazy on stage.

I have a 1999 Sadowsky USA 5 and I am wondering if others have the ones befor he put extra stiffeners in the neck. I really like mine and not saying the earlier ones are better just different. Anyone have an older and a new one see differences. Maybe the newer are more warmer and the older a little more brighter? Or maybe the other way around.

We added graphite strips in our necks at the same time we thickened our headstock. The sole purpose was to do everything possible to reduce deadspots. The positive feedback we have received over the years is that this improved the tonal evenness across the fretboard. We have never received any negative feedback. I don't think you can attribute any difference in brightness to the graphite.

I have a 2014 Metro Will Lee 5. Headstock is 17mm thick - definitely thicker than any of my other basses. Do you happen to know if this would have the graphite strips? Or any other way to tell? I can PM you the serial# if that helps.

Just curious, btw it's an absolutely gorgeous instrument - the best I've ever owned.

It really doesn't matter. The bass either has dead spots that bother you or it doesn't. Plenty of the older necks without graphite had nice even response, the graphite just increased the likelihood of that result. So don't sweat it :)
