Club Sadowsky!!!

Aside from the fact the Will Lee plays the "Vintage" style bass, I've kind of wondered why neither the Metro line nor (IIRC) the NYC have a Will Lee model for "Standard" models. I'd love to some day have a 5-string WL MS5 to go with my metro MS4. Perhaps not enough buyer interest for a standard with the WL nut width, and mid-boost pre-amp? I'd buy one. Preferably used :)

By Standard, you mean without the pick guard? The shop does build those. There is a nice looking 5 Standard on the Shop For Sale Page right now.

Yes, by standard I do mean without the pickguard; as in the "S" in MS5 etc. That's a very nice obviously custom standard five string they have for sale on the site for $6600 which is quite a bit above my price range. I am wondering if any affordable WL standards are made, primarily (given my $ range) in the Metro department (it would appear not since I've never seen one; the question is, why?). I'd kinda like a WL-spec five string Metro, but that would match my MS4 in sunburst in every other regard.

WL's are obviously made for the Metro line; just not for Metro standards, and I am not sure why since, presumably, the standard metros are exactly the same as the vintage except for control plate and pick guard. Of course Roger and Co. know their customers, their business, and their facilities, and so probably have their reasons, but from my chair it would seem like an attractive thing to offer in the Metro line; obviously they'll build it any way you want in the NYC for the right price.

I've had this bass for a while now but it got its first gig last night. It was a joy to play and sounded great.

Thanks Roger!

Look who just became SadowskySteve? No more StingRay for me. Although the EBMM Sting was a fine and worthy companion for many many years it just cannot hold a candle to my Sadowsky. So now its official! Now to celebrate.... Must add another Sadowsky! Looking for a PJ but have to bide my time saving gig money as the Mrs just doesn't understand...

Cool didn't know you could change user name. Maybe I could change mine. The M6674 part of my ID is named after my 1st metro but I have a NYC model now too..:)

I'm an ex-EBMM player too. Good basses, and I love their oil/wax neck finish and the design of their bridges.

But after this Satin J, I'm done with everything else. Sadowsky for the win!

Good name change, SadowskySteve!

Fair enough! Just like my booking manager.
