Club Sadowsky!!!

Sound check Friday night in PA. My trusty Standard 4 killed it all night! With a little help from My Genz Benz rig! :smug:

Ok so I’m a total gear head and love finding out how basses are made in terms of materials, pups, finishing etc I have a neck question are the dots painted on or are they actual dots embedded in the neck stupid question I know but my curiosity gets the better of me.

Action shot from Friday night with the new #1! Sounded soooooo good live. I really like the SC's in this bass. The light weight actually threw me off a little in the first song of the set - I'm used to a little more resistance in movement (i.e. heavier bass). By the end of the set my shoulder/back were happy happy joy joy. I would even go so far as finishing a particular sentence with the words "Cold, dead hands" with this one - if you get my drift, lol.

Very nice! Hope the gig went well!

Ok another noob question, is there a way to date A Sadowsky bass? Every company has their method. I’m curious what is the way Sadowsky does it and also if anyone has any info on the fret markers are they actual in the neck dots or painted on.

A quick Googling turned up this (an old posting, so it only goes up to 2010):

2004 M100-M440
2005 M400-M1050
2006 M1010-M1670
2007 M1600-M2100
2008 M2100-M2970
2009 M2900-M3970
2010 M3971-M4830

VTC added: Feb 2007

Change to 500K volume pot (from 250K): Approximately M3500 (mid 2009)

You can always email Roger. I did it when I got my first pre-owned Metro, and after a few days I got a reply.

Ahhh ok thanks, do you know if these numbers would also apply to the overseas models as well ?

I believe the numbers I posted were all Metros (which I forgot to include in the OP, sorry). So, I'm guessing this applies to the ones made overseas. Then again, aren't ALL Metros made overseas?

... is there a way to date A Sadowsky bass?

I'd first check, seeing if there's a significant other. Then, all smooth like and everything, wearing a sophisticated strap, ask it...

"Think you'd like to hang with me?"...

... this line works only with the singles, on a stand. If there are multiple SBF's (Sadowsky Bass Friends), I'd move on, as they will just laugh at you, throwing little umbrellas from their drinks...

... I'm speaking from experience, here... those things are like little darts.
