Club Sadowsky!!!

Arrived today. Superb. The Germans will have a lot to live up too. This is amazing, the weight, neck, fretwork is all perfect.

It looks amazing as do all Sadowskys but since taking delivery of a metro express, I can't find the 3 or 4 k difference in price. Yes hand-built is great and Sadowsky is one of the best. I'm very eager to see how the metro and Chinese metro express compare to the Japanese versions. After a solid few hours last night playing the metro express my only problem with it is I didint buy 2 of them when first released

^^^ If it's a "Metro" why is it over $5k? It can't be both "Masterbuilt" and " Metro" at the same time. At least that's my understanding.
The "note" said Masterbuilt are like a Warwick NYC model, Metro are like the Japanese Metro and then the Metro Express entry-level.
So one or the other but not both.
If you live in the US I would ask why you wouldn't buy a NYC rather than a Masterbuilt?
I was crippled importing a NYC into the UK by shipping, duty, exchange rates and tax.
This is great news for European (and UK) buyers.

This is what the gentleman from The Bass Place wrote me via email regarding the Master Built Metro 5 string he is selling:

John,

This bass is a German made one and was sold to us as a Masterbuilt. Early on, the German made Sadowsky basses were referred to as the Metro series. The price list I have now lists these basses as either Sadowsky Metro Line. The ones we have now only say “Sadowsky” on the head stock. The web site shows “Metro” or “Masterbuilt” under the Sadowsky branding. I would expect the incoming ones to be marked that way.
These were brought to the uSA to introduce the line to dealers. The (3) that we were able to buy all have top level build quality. I’m really looking forward to having more of these basses to offer to our customers.
Currently, there are no German or Express basses available. Sadowsky is only building to dealers orders, so we’re trying to get our orders in for delivery in mid-year.

Thanks,

Dennis
