From a quick search it looks like Seymour Duncan, and Delano make them as well.
Yes, Fender has made them for years. I'm not sure when they started. I know the samarian cobalts were stacked. The Suhr pickups were split coils. And contrary to popular opinion, I didn't like the Suhr electronics at all. They were very mid scooped just like the all the split coil 5 string pickups I've played.
My favorite pickups are Nordstrand Fat Stacks, and I actually like the sound of my Fender Elite jazz pickups - although I didn't like the preamp and had a Sadowsky pre put into it.
So, from that I assume I would like the Sadowsky stacked Js as well.
I like the Fat Stacks, too and I love the sound of the pickups in my two Elite's. I don't hate the preamp in the Elite but it's definitely not my favorite. I play them passive more often than not. For my style, stacked single coils just work.
I did the same thing - played it in passive mode. Until I put the Sadowsky preamp in it. That basically made the active tone the same as the passive but gave me the extra tonal flexibility
I began the stacked J design with Kevin Beller at Duncan many years ago.
I bought a Satin Deluxe J used and according to what I googled it was from 2017. It's serial # 7778, is it possible to be stacked?

Sorry to derail topic but which K&M stand is this, I'm looking for a reliable stand!!!!
Back in the early 80's I commissioned a Franken-PJ assembled from a Schecter body and Wayne Charvel neck I'd acquired. I went through a bunch of PJ pickups on it, but my favorite tones came from a Seymour Duncan set with stack-coil bridge pickup.
Anyway, 30-plus years later: very belated thank you, Roger!

P.S. Those are Duncan, not DiMarzio; I got cream covers for them. And being an 80's Frankenbass, of course it had Schaller tuners and a Badass bridge.

Not overhyping...it’s the best one I’ve ever used. 27”/5 basses...super stable, lightweight, nitro safe, and grabs a J/P solidly either direction. Discovery credit goes to @TimothyGroovy (one of his IG posts)...
I do wonder if the clear material will yellow in UV light over time, though I couldn’t find a bad review!

I use Gator GTRSTD6 and recently want a more compact stand in my studio, I just go get a K&M Guardian 5 which I wanted for a while, main reason is really because of nitro safe and compact size, I saw some stands's neck support really stained some necks and also the body, so I really need one nitro safe... highly recommended.
I'm thankful for the amazing instruments and amp Roger and Crew have made for me over the years.
Some classic rock on my Sadowsky Modern:
whatever works for you is the right way. i store them long horn in simply because that keeps the center of balance more into the lean, and they tend to want to tip side-side a little less that way.
