EDIT: The SBP-1 lights up when connected to the Brick. So the SBP-1 appears to be powered correctly.

Oh yes, absolutely.
In the past I tried several times to order a Metro M5 Japan fretless, but the answer was always "no".
In Italy/EU NYC custom bass prices are very high due to shipping + customs and import duties, but thanks now with this new agreement with Warwick the fretless of my dreams is now reality.

IMO if you're going to go for a super P you might as well get the super J. At that point what else could you possibly need? It's definitely what I would build next. I'm just not sure if I want to go back to 5 string at some point or stay on 4s. Once I build a super PJ that's going to be hard to top so I need to be 100% on which way to go.

Question for all you wise Sadowsky users! There is a metro r3 GUITAR for sale in the classifieds. At what point did Sadowsky offer a guitar made in Japan and when did they stop? I thought it was only basses. And are there going to be metro guitars made in Germany?

Unfortunately I haven't heard any super PJ samples yet. I can only think of one person on here that has one and that's @Kevan Campbell. I don't know if he ever shared any tracks of his super PJ.

I'm very happy, perhaps this is the first MetroLine Modern fretless built by Warwick.

Swamp Ash body, ebony fingerboard.
The fretless fingerboard is absolutely perfect, Warwick definitely knows his job.

Congrats, My FL is a Chinese PJ5 black sparkle. Ebony board, I'm updating it with US preamp with VTC.
The nut width on mine is 1.75" what is your Modern 5 FL nut width?

Anyway, the preamp installed in ME made in China is the same installed on the MetroLine German made (I think Roger clarified this point several times).
If I were in you, I would install only the VTC kit and perhaps replace the pickups with the ones installed on the MetroLine (once Warwick will make them available...).

I’ve only seen them with the super j’s, but I’m sure Roger or deepestend could tell you more about it. I thought there was someone who had a bass with a super p in here, but of course I can’t find it now (granted, I haven’t had coffee yet so it could be user error).

I'm working on a diagram, but the super p is a pickup that we designed and tested that nordstrand makes for us. It comes with a selector switch that allows you to pick either P or reverse P poles. Sounds really good. You don't have to pair it with a super J.

I applaud Roger for this. It is far too easy to get hung up on trying to achieve an exact spec rather than go on feel for each individual bass.

And here again you see how important it is to have easy truss rod access without removing the neck.

After tightening the neck screws I check the screws holding the bridge to the body to make sure they’re tight as well.

Relief can vary dramatically depending on the individual's technique: e.g. how hard do they play? I read somewhere that Alembic would set up John Entwistle's basses close to flat because he wanted a bit of fret buzz throughout the fretboard. On the other end of the spectrum: I once sat in for three songs with a friend's band. His bassist was a big dude who used heavy strings, high action, and believed that the best tone came from digging in hard. I played his bass (didn't know I'd be sitting in), and my fingers barely made it through all three songs. LOTS of relief on that neck.
