I've owned mine for a decade-plus. I've rarely had to do truss rod tweaks, and never because of seasonal changes, even though here in MD there's a pretty big diff between winter and summer. Last time was either for a string change (to/from low tension flats), or tuning change (to/from half-step down). But even then, that tweak isn't always required.

I'll chime in. I have a NYC J5 2006 and a 2014 NYC J4.
Tweaked the truss rod on both in 2017 after 3 years in the UK (-10F to 82F) and the J5 once before that around 2010.
Here in Queensland it's sub-tropical and we get floods (2011), bushfires (2020), Florida-type humidity and temps from 38F to 110F.
I have the truss rod adjuster in a drawer here somewhere. Which end of the neck does it go in?

Couple questions;

1. Are Sadowsky Portabags available anywhere? If so, where? I could use a Gig bag with straps opposed the softshell case that my Japan MetroExpress 5 came in. It would work if it had shoulder straps. But I prefer to sling my bass/gig bag over my shoulder so I can carry or roll in other gear on my cart.

2. The time is coming for a string change on my MetroExpress 5 (Ash/maple). What exactly are they? Stainless? What are the gauges? If Blue Labels are not available, what do you guys think is the next closest thing? I've used Dunlops on my other basses for years. And also DR low Riders were great too.

2a. Do you prefer a .125 or .130 B string?

I've grown to really like the blue label strings. I like their tension which is not too tight. They hold tune and intonate very well and sound great. They are lasting a long time too.

dunlop ultra bright nickels with a 130 are pretty fantastic on my sadowskys. Buy the 6 string set snd throw away the C.

I found the opposite. I always thought the Dunlop B was a bit weak while a DR was consistent with the EADG. At least on my Sadowsky that is the case. Haven't tried a 130 yet though.

FWIW, I've been through several sets of Dunlops, and even far more DRs. Dunlops are good, but DRs beat them hands down every time for me.

Sorry to add this to the mix, but what about Metro "Will Lee" single coils? Full strength magnets, therefore farther away?

The Metro Single Coils are NYC pickups.

The NYC Satin Series 5 string pickups as well as NYC basses over the last 10+ years have full strength magnets (single coil and hc) and should be a bit farther away from the strings.
