FedEx just dropped this off. Should I wait 24 hours before opening it since it traveled all the way from west coast to Toronto Canada?

Depending on temperatures during its travel is how I usually judge it.
Left my Verdine leaning on what I thought was a safe and well supported spot for not even 30 seconds.. you know where this is headed. Turns out there was DI box under what looked like a soft blanket next to me. Right between 2nd and 3rd fret.

Honestly I stopped reading after the part about leaning on what I thought was safe, it's like being kicked in the testicles, it really hurts, I know I've done the exactly the same thing- leaning on what I thought was safe and it just killed me.

@Sadowsky... Have you ever used the soldering iron steam method?
Use a washcloth or paper towel that is damp and carefully apply the hot soldering iron on top of the wet cloth over the dent to create steam.
The steam helps to cure the dent in the wood. It may not bring it back to perfect, but IME it, it helps.
Depends on the wood, if it has a finish it may not help as much, etc.

Ok. I did my best to wait for 3 hours...
My first impression was: OMG.
The finish is beautiful. Amazing Sadowsky tone.
I will post a detailed review later after I compare to my other Sadowsky’s.

So I spent some more time with the new Metro. Some thoughts:
The finish is very beautiful.
However, I think the finish is also quite thick. There are also uneven spots which you can see from the reflection in the picture below. I could even feel it when I touched it.
The fit and finish is top-notch Sadowsky quality. The neck joint is as tight as it can be. The tuners are very similar to the ones on my NYC, a big upgrade from the Hipshots on my Japanese Metro. The setup is perfect, even after travelling a few thousand miles. I just tuned it up and started playing without touching the truss rod or messing with the string heights.
The neck is a lot closer to NYC than the Japanese Metro. The Japanese Metro neck is the thickest(just by a little bit) and has a glossy finish. The NYC and German Metro have a thin matte nitro finish which is super smooth to play. I feel that the German Metro neck is even slightly slimmer than the NYC neck, which fits my hand perfectly!
I have never been a fan of Morado (Pau Ferro) fingerboards as I like my fingerboards dark. But the Morado on the Metro is quite dark with awesome wood grains.
I applied some F-One oil on it and it became darker. I'm very pleased with the result and here is a comparison to my Fender American Original P bass with Rosewood board.
The new nut is cool, I didn't have to do anything since it was adjusted properly. But it did fall out when I took the strings off to apply oil to the fingerboard, so it's something to watch out for. You can see the gap between the nut and fingerboard.
The pickups are awesome. The output is higher than the ones on the Japanese Metro. And I think there is also slightly more "bite" to the sound. I think @TimothyGroovy mentioned that the pickup sounds pretty close to the NYC ones but I don't have an NYC with jazz style pickups to compare with.
The pan knob is installed in the "correct" way though, meaning that turning clockwise will pan to the neck pickup. I don't really care about this because I play both pickups on 99.9% of the time.
I think the only downside is the weight. This bass weighs 9.5lbs. My bass has a 3 piece body, I think it can weigh less if you select the wood more carefully. I think the thicker finish also contributed to the heavier weight. I'm personally okay with 9.5lbs but that's the max I will take. I have to say that I have been spoiled by my NYC Modern though as it weighs 8lbs only! My Japanese Metro also weighs 8.7lbs only.
The seller did list the weight and I also checked other listings. I found that most of the new Metros with alder bodies weigh more than the advertised guaranteed 8.9lbs or less. I even saw one with an ash body that weighs 10.1 lbs! I think something needs to be done about it.
Overall, I'm still super happy with the new Metro. I hope Rogers addresses the weight and finish issues and it will become an almost perfect bass!

I got mine from Pitbull Audio: Musical Instruments, Pro Audio, & Accessories.
If you check reverb you can see a few more dealers selling them. I would skip reverb and talk to them directly to avoid reverb premium.
