Once you take it out of the showroom.. it’s all down hill.

I had something similar a long time ago and if it’s mostly a dent it can be steamed out. I didn’t believe it could work but it did. Find a good finish woodworker/luthier.

That's right, you're right! However, you can tell them to put some Sadowsky bass inside just to make the shipping price for the Portabag more affordable!

Prop the bass up on its side with the ding facing up. Make a small wad of wet paper towel the size of the ding.

Leave it on the ding overnight. It should come back a bit.
At least it was damaged by cool gear. I remember giving one of my axes its first ding with a stinking filing cabinet drawer. It was just a bit too close when I pulled it open.
