Club Sadowsky!!!

All, it's a sad day in Sadowsky-land... today, our VERY good friend and also team member for some of us, sadly lost his courageous battle with cancer. TB'er Chef has passed. For those of you so inclined, sending a prayer his and his family's way would be good.

Peace.

Awful, awful news. I had no idea.
I didn't know him at all, but the man had excellent taste and great input here. It saddens me to learn of this.
Cancer sucks. :( His family has my prayers, as well as for the repose of the soul. Godspeed, Chef.

Ugh. I just met up with him a little over a month ago to pick up his WL so he could pick up another Sadowsky. Gave me his new CD. Great convo and said he was doing good. Cancer sucks. RIP Chef.

RIP @Chef

I only interacted with Alan on TB and through some of his Facebook posts. Here we bought and sold a few items to each other and discussed gear on other occasions. He was such a kind, cool, and witty fella and I always enjoyed what he had to contribute, whether to one of our discussions or those posted publicly.

What a loss! You'll be missed, Alan!

Really? I thought that Will Lee model has narrower nut. Sorry if I misunderstood smthing.
According to the Sadowsky website, NYC 5 string basses have a choice of 1 3/4" or 1 7/8" neck widths, but the Will Lee 5 is a 1 3/4" width.

Edit: This seems to apply to the 21 fret, 24 fret and Singlecut basses. The 20 fret Ultra Vintage doesn't specify nut width, and the Verdine White 5 is even wider at 1.875".

1 ⅞” is 1.875” ;)

RIP Chef. He was my go to moderator. I went back and read a few old posts. He was to the point but always kind and professional. I did not realize he was caregiver for his Mom. I hope he’s now with her and at peace.

Really enjoyed playing this one yesterday!
