I like to check up on the Sadowsky team members page on the website from time to time, to see if any new faces have joined. I’ve noticed that Ellis is absent from the page. Does anyone know if she’s ok?

I just ( a few days ago ) spoke with her via text messaging and she is doing well.

I emailed her last week to get a build started and her email said “Thank you for reaching out. I will be in out of the shop until the
week of May 24th, but doing my best to monitor my email until then.”
Roger ended up contacting me back to get it started a couple days later. Not sure if that helps?
Question for Sadowsky flats users - any idea why they use so "gentle" windings on E? Quite unusual..

FWIW, looks to me that the A string winding is wider than the others, but I could be wrong.
Whatever the differences, you can be sure that the answer is the tone, maaan! And perhaps other factors such as flexibility, durability.
I like the smoother feel that's possible with this this wrap. On another string related note, I recently tried to install DR Pure Blues PB5-45 .045 - .125 on my NYC 5-24.
The low B-string, which has no taper on the bridge end and very little taper above the nut, was problematic. The bridge end wouldn't fit through the opening and seat correctly, and the nut end wouldn't wrap around the tuner post as you would expect. See photo with DR .125 B-string compared to Blue Label Nickel .125T
I definitely would not recommend these strings, and will be going back to the trusted Sadowsky Blue Label Nickels.

I use the Pure Blues on my Sadowsky 4-21 and they are killing. Bs are a tricky beasts though so I see where you are coming from. Wish more of them were tapered in general.
Is there any other reason for the blue nylon at the string's end beside not scratching the tuning posts and looking cool?
What other reason do you need?
