I have never seen passive Sadowsky, interesting

Looks to me like a fake/knockoff; for one, the tuning machines aren't consistent with the ones used in that era—and don't appear to be genuine Hipshots that were used later. The bass listed in that ad is shown in the middle, while the instruments on the left and right are currently for sale on the Gruhn website:

No tone controls, even? Looks like just two volumes…weird.
Custom orders happen (shrug).
And all three of my Sadowsky NYCs, serial #'s in the 4K and 5K ranges, have small Hipshots like the one in the middle.
Obviously I have no idea whether it is legit, just sayin' it could be.

The hipshots look legit (they didn't have the logo on them earlier, could have been a custom order with the ultralites), but the string retainer looks janky and the bridge seems off to me too, but the seller could just not have the ball ends in there correctly. Caveat emptor.
yes they are. my NYC, S/N 4098 has those exact same tuners. I'd bet it's a legit custom.
Question for the group, is this a typo, and/or misstatements being repeated, or are the Chinese PJ Metro models truly coming in with single coils?

Odd that this would be a feature because I’ve read in this thread that:
- single coil J and hum bucking P together doesn’t work together
- never seen a split P pickup that is also a single coil.

There's been a couple of things I've noticed in the marketing materials for the new Metro/Express stuff that results in head scratching. Some of it seems to have been cleaned up but if a dealer doesn't also adjust their descriptions then...
I have a very early RSD MetroExpress Hybrid (PJ) 5-string. The P is as you would expect, but there are 3 sets of pole pieces per coil. The pole pieces for the A string on the DG coil are simply covered by the plastic cover. The J is a single coil. I have seen @Sadowsky state on here that a humbucking J replacement would be made available, but I don’t think he ever said it would become the standard J for the MetroExpress line.
Also, another notable error that seems to have gone unnoticed in the specs (at least for my bass), the nut width is 1.75”, not 1.87.

The Sunday set up. I'm really impressed by the Warm DI so far, the difference in the IEMS is earth shaking. And the Ultra Vintage is real nice but I'm still getting use to getting levels right.

It also contains a desiccant to prevent fret tarnish.
Do you know of a place that we could get something similar as consumers? It would be really nice to have in other cases around here.

As an alternative, Zerust makes vapor-phase corrosion inhibitors for things like guitar/bass string packaging. It's not a dessicant, you can find those easily enough, it will prevent corrosion. VCI Paper Packaging | Anti Corrosion Kraft Paper | Zerust®/Excor®
