I raised mine a little from those specs as well.

Since I lowered the strings just a touch from the shop set-up (primarily so the set-up matched the board radius a bit better than when it came from the shop), I assume the string to pickup height on my bass is a bit 'closer' also. I noticed absolutely no difference in tone one way or the other.

I'm curious, how do most of you store your Sadowsky's when they are not being played? Do you keep them in a case, place them on stands, lie them on a bed with satin sheets? I know that some people are pretty obsessive about how they keep their basses. Some don't like stands that suspend the bass by the headstock, while others don't like stands that support at the base and neck. Some people are even particular about how to store the bass when it's in its case (standing vs flat vs on its side). I've never given these things much thought before but I'm curious - how do you guys keep your babies?

These basses, like many, are meant to be played. They are, for the most part, maple necks bolted to chunks of alder or ash with a very hard poly finish and some sturdy metal bits attached:D I keep mine in its case when not being played, or leave it on the wonderful Hercules hanging stand if I'm doing serious woodshedding at home over a few day period.
