Please don't hold your breath on this one. :(

I priced it all out, and the cost of blocks and bindings and the related additional time for fretwork on a bound board would be an additional $700-$800. It just doesn't make any economic sense to me to offer this as an option.

This may be a stupid question and could open up a can of worms, but given the amount that you have quoted above, if someone was prepared to offer you say an extra $1000 on top of the cost of their bass to do it, would you consider it as an "unlisted" option or are you really saying that you just simply wouldn't be prepared to do this at all (even as a occasional one off).

At this point, I am not ready to do it. I have always had a hard time offering expensive options that are "cosmetic only", other than wood choices.

You are not sick. This would imply there is a cure for your situation. Truth is, there isn't. You're doomed man. It's a syndrome from which you'll never escape.
60's vs. 70's pickup position... I can see clearly the difference in the bridge p/u. Is there any in the neck p/u?

The only difference between 60's/70's position is in the bridge pickup... the top is 70's.

I have to say, after my initial troubles getting a low action and now that it's set up properly, this is the best bass I have ever played :hyper:... and that's been a few.
I love the feel, the sound, the neck is sooooo comfortable and easy to play... I'm glad I pulled the trigger and went for it.
