Can someone tell me the difference between the Japanese Metros and German Metros as far as the neck goes? I played a German one today and the neck felt thinner front to back from than from what I remeber the Japan ones feeling. Also is the nut width the same? I know neck has a satin finish which is the first thing I noticed. Sorry, I know the answer is in this thread somewhere but due to lack of time I am forced to ask here. Thanks in advance!!!

Nut widths are the same. The German Metro necks are thinner than the MIJ’s for sure and are much more similar to the NYC necks.
Would you happen to know if the string spacing at the bridge is also 19mm like the MIJ?
Yes, 19mm other than the M/J models that I believe have 18mm.
I haven't seen any of these on the forum. Is this the first? A roasted maple neck fretless Sadowsky.
And a shot of the roasted maple neck. It has such a wonderful unfinished feel to it. Just amazing really.
So maybe this conversation hasn’t taken place here yet. My new Sadowsky was made in China. And maybe the roasted maple neck is new to this line.
Kudos to Roger Sadowsky. This bass is as good as any that I own. And it’s not easy to make a good fretless. This is a good one.

I have the 5string Olympic white. The grooved lines were lower than the Morado fretboard, just got it back from levelling. Neck is thicker than metroline.
My groove lines are perfect. The myah tones are so beautiful that I can't put it down. My perfect beautiful myah tones. I love the tones from this bass.
Other than cosmetically, is there any difference between the Metroexpress Verdine White and the P/J?

Has anyone tried to put an Airtag in the control compartment in your bass?
I ask this because I was on tour and complained to the monitor engineer that there was a strange sound coming into my in-ear monitors.
I had laid my iPhone on my pedal board and the signal was interfering with the audio output to the console.
Just wondering if the Bluetooth would do the same thing.

No, but I wouldn't hesitate to put one in my bass case or pedalboard bag if I were traveling.
I know phones can cause interference with all the Bluetooth, wifi, and cell signals they put out. Air tags will put out some, but nowhere near the amount as a cell phone. Though a properly shielded cavity may drastically decrease it's range.
if I wanted a tag physically mounted to the bass I would get one of the little plastic enclosures like pelican and lots of others make and see if I could double stick tape it to the back of the head. But I’d probably just put one in the case. I have 5 items currently that I keep the tags on and it has been fantastic for me. When I travel I usually put one of these in my suitcase and it allows me to see when the bag gets loaded onto the plane.
Are tuners on Metroexpress light tuners? Mine the headstock is very heavy and the balance is VERY bad...
I played a roasted maple five today since I attended my kid’s competition
in that area today. I think it sounds great, but the front to back profile of the neck was quite chunky.
To me, the tuners are one of the weakest links of Sadowsky Metroexpress and German Metroline basses. Heavy and not smooth turning. They just feel cheap.

Yes, the chunky neck was one of the primary reasons I decided to let my P/J Metroexpress go. Second to the defective P pickup producing the louder A string due to the extra set of magnetized poles under the plastic cover.
